Arranging Care

We are Leda Homecare, started in 2006 to provide inovative personalised care to people in the local area. After working in the care industry for a number of years our Owner / Manager – Linda, a registered nurse – decided to start her own home care company. Helping people thrive and feel safe in the home they love, and supporting them to live the best life possible. We provide supportive and enabling services to our clients with emphasis on a persons dignity and independence taking center stage. We have continued throughout to innovate and improve the way that care and support are provided in the community. We are champions of digitisation, which we first implemented in 2007, increasing the safety and wellbeing of our clients and ensure support packages are being met. We know that families appreciate the reassurance that their loved one is well looked after and our digital systems allow us to have instant oversight of each of our clients and the visits our care workers provide. Above all else the care we provide to our clients is the most important thing we do.

Step by Step Process.

  • From the first call you make to our company you can be assured that you will be taken care of. You may be asked a few up front questions to ensure we can provide the type of service you require? When you are looking to start the service? Your name and address? If you are just enquiring for your shortlist you will be offered a service user terms and conditions which tell you a little about us and what to expect from your service, there is no obligation to use our service at this point.
  • We will then make an appointment to come out to see you to discuss your needs, at this point there is no obligation to use our services. If you decide you would like to go ahead we will complete a full Needs Assessment. this includes information about your health and care needs and how you would like your care to be provided. We will also conduct Risk Assessments for anything raised within your Needs Assessment such as, if you require support with bathing we would have to assess your needs against the equipment you have in place and the layout of your bathroom. This ensures we can carry out all tasks safely both for you and the care worker visiting.
  • We offer a range of services to enable our clients to fulfill their daily living activities. personal care, support with meals and drinks, medication support, bathing, shopping support and light domestic duties as part of a care package. We can also offer social support with sitting services (offering respite, a few hours personal time for your main carer) and escorting to appointments. We can support any adult from age 18+ who has any physical disabilities, dementia, frailty or needs palliative care support. This is not an exhaustive list, please ask what services we can offer you.
  • We will advise on what type of package you might require based on your needs, and following a discussion with you. At your needs assessment we will also agree a time(s) for your visits to occur, this is agreed based on our availability and your wishes. We aim to attend your agreed visits within a tolerance of 1 hour (30 minutes either side of the agreed time this is to allow for any issues which occur for the carers during their rostered visits.
  • We can offer support in signposting to other services you may need and help you to access these. Often people are not aware of the processes and options open to them.
  • If you chose to accept our offer of services a start date for your service will be arranged. Your carers will start attending from this time. We will complete a review within the first 6 weeks to ensure the care package matches your needs. Any changes will be discussed with you, and with your agreement actioned in a timely manner.
  • Following your initial review of service, we will then review annually or when any changes to your needs occur.
  • Our care visits are monitored and recorded using a mobile app, which updates our systems and logs your visits electronically. This system manages our invoicing, payroll and oversight of all care packages. It offers us a reliable, faster, and more accurate monitoring to ensure a more efficient service giving more time to care for our clients.

We hope this helps explain a little more about the process of arranging care, if you have questions please contact us, we are happy to help.

*If your package is managed by your local authority(social services) , your needs will be assessed by them and they will request a package for you. We will still complete our own needs assessment, risk assessment and review process.
